Simplicity of Operation

Breaking down and assembling down-the-hole hammers is one of the most frequent problems for drillers. With the Tundra Breakout Bench this problem can be solved easily. Its exclusive remote control helps keeping the operation safe and fast by just one man.

Crane

The Tundra Breakout Bench comes with an optional crane which allows to lift any DTH hammer o the ground or service truck, place it in the saddle, break the hammer apart, completely service, assemble, torque to specs, and lay the fresh hammer and bit on your hammer rack or back on your service truck without the use of a fork lift or overhead crane.

Safety

As mentioned, the Tundra Breakout Bench comes standard with a wired remote control that removes the operator away from the tool when breaking out the hammer. An optional safety screen is also available to offer added safety during operation. Tundra recommends the use of a safety screen during all stages of operation. Failure to do so can cause serious injury.

Hammer Make up and break out

The table below gives the required torque values for the different hammer sizes which if completed correctly makes the hammers much easier to open,requiring approximately the same torque to open as it took to make up the hammer.

All Tundra hammers require make up before operation to ensure correct operation and avoid premature wear to the internal components and possible component failures.
