Casing Advancement Systems

Drilling in unconsolidated ground conditions is one of the most difficult tasks in the drilling industry today. That’s why Tundra stocks a variety of quality Casing Advancing Systems for multiple industries. Selecting the right casing system depends on several factors including the ground conditions, application, and rig. We can recommend a system for your specific requirements. Our systems produce outstanding performance in hard rock as well as overburden formations. They are available for drilling hole sizes 2″ to 48-9/16″ (50 mm – 1245 mm) in diameter.

Symmetrix Casing Advancement System for Drilling, Mining, Exploration and Construction

Symmetrix is a versatile solution for overburden drilling where ground conditions are difficult, time is limited and precision is crucial. Whether used in ground with big boulders, inclined competent layers or hard bedrock, Symmetrix drills until the required depth is reached. The system drills more quickly and accurately than any other method available today. The unique design of Symmetrix provides reliable results, which saves contractors money.

Mitsubishi Super Maxbit G-Model Casing Advancement System for Drilling, Mining, Exploration and Construction

The Super Maxbit G-Model has economical cost per drilled foot, is designed for thicker casing pipes (shoed or shoeless), has faster penetration, a stable opening and closing mechanism, and provides straight and smoother bore hole drilling. It's ideal for foundation construction, waterwell, environmental testing, geothermal, and geological survey applications. Available in 2-wing and 3-wing options.

Elemex TerraRoc Casing Advancement System for Drilling, Mining, Exploration and Construction

The Elemex is ideal for minimizing the risk of settlements in surrounding structures. The unique design of the pilot bit directs the air over the drill bit surface reducing the air leakage into the ground. The directed air flushing enables the driller to be in full control of the drilling process. Elemex bits are available up to casing size 813 mm (32”) diameter in different models and sizes, and in a wide range of wall thickness casings.

Mitsubishi Ultra Maxbit Casing Advancement System for Drilling, Mining, Exploration and Construction

The Ultra Maxbit is used for simultaneous drilling and casing in a wide range of ground conditions such as sand, gravel, boulders and rock. With its locking system and dual bit system it allows vertical, horizontal, and even inclined drilling. Additionally, it has faster penetration rates due to large bit surface area. Various casing systems and models are available for any application.

Mitsubishi Super Maxbit Casing Advancement System for Drilling, Mining, Exploration and Construction

The Super Maxbit offers higher-speed casing advancement, straight borehole drilling, uniform rotation while drilling of boulders, sand and gravel, as well as reliability in extending and retracting. It's a highly efficient bit for foundation construction, waterwell, and environmental testing and geothermal applications. Available in 2-wing and 3-wing options.

Mitsubishi Micro Casing Bit Casing Advancement System for Drilling, Mining, Exploration and Construction

The Micro Casing Bit is the smallest concentrical drilling system in the world. Its application is for long holes such as face bolting, geological survey, and drainage holes. It comes in a 2", 2.5", 3" and 4" system.

Numa Super Jaws Casing Advancement System for Drilling, Mining, Exploration and Construction

The Super Jaws bit simultaneously drills and cases holes in hard rock, overburden, boulders, or bedrock. Super Jaws underreamer system is available in two versions – Drive Shoulder and No Drive (ND) Shoulder – for flexible drilling capabilities. Hole sizes 5-1/8” to 48” (130 – 1219 mm).

  • Requires no drive shoe when used with dual rotary or duplex setup rigs

  • Perfectly suited for micro-piles, mini-piles, tiebacks, soil nail and various applications

  • Outstanding underreaming results in overburden and solid rock

  • Faster penetration rates due to large bit surface area contacting formation

  • Superior strength with single-piece bit body avoiding potential failure from multiple parts

  • Wings extend out to drill a full diameter hole then retract to bring all tooling to the surface

  • Eliminates tooling left down the hole with no reverse rotation required
